although I agree that Consumer spending is what "grows" the economy. Spending money on Gasoline, which is made from imported oil, does little to help our economy. If you spent $100 on gas (to fuel the RV (which would not get you very far)), that money goes to the gas station, the refiner, and to the oil company. If they spent the same $100 on a meal, the money would goto the resturant, the waiter, chef, the food processor(s), and the American farmers. A lot more bang for the buck (or in this case 100 bucks)
