Forbes -- Over the past decade, renewable energy has moved from the margins into the mainstream of America’s energy economy. If it wants to stay there, it should start playing nice with natural gas, especially the clean kind.

The United States boasts an estimated 2.2 trillion cubic feet of technically recoverable natural gas reserves. How America manages that resource could kill renewable energy or catalyze it.

Renewables are price competitive in the rest of the world, aside from burning dirty coal. Besides, NG prices will eventually go up in North America as more and more people use it for transportation and heating.

However CNG is way too dangerous for a multitude of people to have in their vehicles.

The government forcing business and individuals to spend more than necessary on alternative energy will only prolong this bad economy. The government needs to put together a realistic energy policy for this country that will help the economy grow while setting the stage for future use of alternative energy.

Oil and Gas are bad, as is coal, and now natural gas. All the cheapest forms of energy are bad for America and thier phoney climate change theories. Alternative fuels are not yet fully developed and the ones that are are extremely high priced. Whos promoting and selling the alternatives?? THE GREENIE WEENIES!!Anyone else seeing a convenient pattern. We need to tell them to shove their alternatives and start firing back up the coal plants on our own. Have you any idea of the safety issues of allowing the public to pump this... Simply irresponsible, if we go there. We'll have to go back to FULL SERVICE, service stations... Best case scenario is to bring CNG and Propane, into the Fleet market in cities and bus services, where people can be trained and the cost savings can save the taxpayer as well. Saving the cities money is good for ALL! Forget the general population, we have enough of a problem with people pumping their own fuel as it is!
